The workplace is becoming more global in nature. It is important for leaders to understand and manage these differences in workplace culture and diversity. GLOBE research identified six global leadership behaviors that are considered important in various cultures in varying degrees:
- Charismatic/value-based
- Team oriented
- Participative
- Humane-oriented
- Autonomous
- Self- or group-protective

Hofstede’s Cultural Dimension Theory details six dimensions along which a culture can be analyzed and utilized effectively in the workplace. Assess how an organization/its leader can utilize the concepts of both GLOBE and Hofstede’s Cultural Dimensions Theory in order to create and sustain not only a culturally diverse organization, but an effective organization, as well.
